20'Navas is the subject of a long ball over the top from Toure, but the pass skids off the turf and straight behind for a goal kick. Aguero is still not moving too well, with the Argentine forward gingerly scampering around. Sunderland aren't managing to escape from their own half on a regular basis, with Defoe not getting any service at all.
18'Aguero is back on the field of play for the visitors, but the ex-Atletico man will take a while to move freely. Sunderland win themselves a corner on the right, but a swinging delivery evades Kone on its way behind for a goal kick. Man City have their lead, which should only force the Black Cats to push forward and leave more gaps at the back.

16'GOOOOOOOOOOOAL! AGUERO MAKES IT 1-0! Navas drills in a cross from the right, which fizzes through a ruck of bodies and into the path of the Argentina international. With O'Shea at his heels, the Man City striker stabs a powerful finish into the top-right corner! He goes down with a knock in the aftermath, but should be okay to continue.
15'Demichelis gives away a free kick, which allows for Sunderland to push some red and white shirts into the penalty area, but a delivery from Kirchhoff is very poor indeed. Man City take the chance to break, with Sagna making tracks down the right-hand side, but O'Shea lashes away the Frenchman's eventual cross!
13'Silva slots a neat ball down the right channel for Aguero to chase, but the former Atletico striker can't quite bring it under his spell! That's the closest that the away outfit have come thus far, with the former Valencia playmaker struggling to find pockets of space against a congested opposition unit.
11'Clichy tries to whip a cross in from the left-hand side, but Van Aanholt flicks a timely defensive header away from the danger area! Quick breaks are the only form of respite for the hosts at the moment, with Man City enjoying the lion's share of possession.
9'Important interception from Demichelis! The Argentine centre-back cuts out a ball from Kone on the right flank, as Sunderland look to cause problems on the counter. Allardyce's men finally show some signs of offensive life, with their new defender already deeply embroiled in Premier League action.
7'Lens dances infield from the right-hand side, but the Netherlands international is forced into a non threatening area of the field. Van Aanholt is picked out on the far side, but the ex-Chelsea left-back can only win his team a corner. The aforementioned Dutchman takes, but Hart is quick off his line to punch well clear.
5'Close for the away outfit! Mannone is forced into action at the near post, following a neat cross from the left-hand side by Clichy! Kone can only divert the ball towards the closest upright, but the former Arsenal goalkeeper makes a simple stop. The visitors are on the front foot immediately.
3'Kone gives away an early corner, with the same Sunderland defender rising well at the second time of asking to frustrate the away outfit. Pellegrini's men are immediately on the offensive, with Defoe looking incredibly isolated at the head of the Black Cats' attack.
1'We are underway in the first half at the Stadium of Light! Both of these clubs are playing for different aims, with the hosts looking to take a step towards Premier League safety, while Man City try to hang onto high flying Leicester.
